i meant to say the other day that i don't compulsively wash my hands
in the bathroom because i think that *i* am dirty but because i think
other people are and i can't keep my hands out of my mouth.

some ridiculous high percentage of illness is passed, um, from poop to
mouth. according to friends in med school who were so paranoid about
this statistic that for awhile, they used that anti-bacterial hand gel
after they touched ANYthing in ANY public space.

i ride the bus to work and touch a lot of building doors and elevators
that literally hundreds of people touch that day. so it's not my poo
i'm worried about, it's theirs.
